It's only an issue with relatively motionless scenes that have strong diagonal lines. (Which doesn't happen all that often). BTW: 3x the height of the screen is the minimum proper viewing distance, as recommended by the majority of tv manufacturers for most types of TVs. Besides Samsung and RealD announced at CES a passive-solution that is full resolution. Which means no jagged lines. Long story short, active is definitely the inferior technology, the overall image is slightly better (I'll give you that), but the overall experience is terrible and general consumers clearly don't like it (as the TV industry didn't sell nearly as many as expected).
