Special Edition Tron Legacy 3D Glasses, by Oakley

Oakley announced today the first glass in their upcoming 3D Eyewear collection, the  ”TRON” Limited Edition 3D Gascan. I loved TRON as a kid, I can’t wait for TRON Legacy to be in theaters this December, and now I can see the movie with the best 3D Glasses on the market. Can it get any better?

Apparently Oakley created an all new lens technology for their entry into the 3D market, it’s called HDO-3D. According to Oakley, HDO-3D lenses are “a collection of proprietary lens innovations that have achieved the first optically correct 3D eyewear on Earth.” These technologies essentially “virtually eliminate” something called ghosting. By this I presume they are referring to the annoying affect I’ve witnessed on Active 3DTV’s where my right eye can see a bit of the left eyes image and vice-versa. If so, I really excited, because that “ghosting” affect is really annoying and apparently Oakley’s 3D Glasses fix that!

Samsung & RealD Partner on 3D Technology for the Home

3D is on step closer to the home. If you’re like me I’m sure you have seen Avatar, it’s amazing. The one thing that I was concerned with though was, “how will I be able to watch this kickass 3D movie at home when it comes out on Blu-Ray?” Well the answer to that question just surfaced. RealD and Samsung are partnering on 3DTV’s. In case you don’t know RealD is the largest 3D Player in the Theater space. If you’ve went to see Avatar in 3D, not at IMAX, you probably saw it in RealD format. Anyway click through to check out the press release.
