So after playing with FaceTime a bit, on the new iPhone 4 running iOS 4, I can easily see how this will change the way we communicate. That is, if it’s widely available and easy to start a conversation. That discussion and how people will use this service are for another post, right now I want to discuss a number of features that would be awesome if they were added to FaceTime (and soon).
With that let’s dive right into this list of missing features. Click on through to continue reading after the break.

Earlier this week I covered 5 Ways to Conserve your iPhones Battery Power, I’ll call those 5 ways for battery conservation the low hanging fruit of power saving. They are the quickest and they save the most power of all the ways to do it. If, however, you are going green and looking for even more ways to reduce your iPhones carbon footprint, don’t worry here are 7 more ways:

For those of you that had the first generation iPhone and then upgraded to the new iPhone 3G, you might have noticed that the number of bars for reception on your phone went down. How could that be? Why would Apple create a phone with a reception quality that’s inferior to its predecessor? Well it is and it isn’t. It’s the 3G and you should turn it off. Here’s why:

As much as I love the iPhone 2.0 release on both my 1st Generation iPhone and my new iPhone 3G, it has problems. The biggest problem I have with 2.0 is how fast it can chug down a full battery. While some of the new features that consume all this power are absolutely great, to be honest most of the time you don’t really need them running. So why not learn how to quickly turn them on and off to get all that battery time back.

One of the problems with the iPhone keypad when you are typing a message is that the period is on another screen. This is very annoying to have to navigate away from typing the message just to add a little punctuation. Don’t fear, there is an easy way to add a period and continue typing without stopping. Here’s How: Continue Reading »

One of the biggest problems with the iPhone, in my opinion, is that the iPhone doesn’t support Bluetooth Stereo out of the box. At least that is true at this moment in time. The iPhone technically has the ability to natively support Bluetooth Stereo, Apple just decided not to support it and essentially turned the ability off. I I’m sure they could turn it on with a little programming.
Don’t worry, with a simple and inexpensive accessory, it’s not that hard to jerry-rig it and have full A2DP/AVRCP Bluetooth Stereo Support. Continue Reading »

So one thing that came with the iPhone 2.0 Software release was a great little secret. One that most people won’t really care about, but for me is a great little tool and might be useful to you. What is is? The ability to take iPhone Screenshots. Here’s How:

If you have been following tech news lately, you might have noticed that Motorola is in a world of hurting right now. Motorola had a meteoric rise in 2004 and 2005 with the RAZR. The only problem was, they forgot to back it up with something even better. As a result Motorola’s Mobile Phone Division is hurting, bad.
So bad in fact that the company that invented the mobile phone industry is potentially shopping the struggling division to potential suitors. We’ve heard announcements from companies like LG, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson saying they aren’t interested in acquiring it. This makes complete sense, afterall they are direct competitors and there is no value for them in acquiring something they already have. It would be as logical as Apple acquiring the failing Microsoft Zune division.
What about an acquisition from a large player that is on the sidelines of the mobile phone industry though? There’s Google and there’s Microsoft. Google doesn’t make physical devices, so I wouldn’t think they’d bite. Microsoft, however is perfect. Continue Reading »

In the last few days I have seen a lot of articles on the web about how ridiculous it is that all iPod touch owners have to pay $20 to get the update that adds new apps that have been default on the iPhone from day 1 and if one were to buy an iPod touch now it would come with it.
HOW CRAZY!!!!!!! BOYCOT APPLE!!!!
At least most people think that, especially when Continue Reading »
