3D is one of the hottest topics in the electronics industry today, for the time being mainstream 3DTV’s require glasses, either active or passive. The Holy Grail of 3D though is to go sans glasses (AKA Glasses-Free, Autostereoscopic, etc.). Well this is definitely a form of glasses-free 3D, however it might make people think you’re winking at that 3D image of Megan Fox a little too much.

Will this tech from Jonathan Post make it mainstream? Most likely not (wink, wink). However, this is the type of innovative thinking we need to really solve the glasses-free 3D problem.

In all honesty, after seeing the various solutions demonstrated at CES last week, don’t expect to see 3D sans glasses for at least another 3-5 years in a high quality 3DTV format. With that said, my 3D technology of choice is the 2nd Generation Passive 3D arriving in stores this year and already in your nearby movie theater.
